It’s that time of year again! The first Peppermint Mocha of the season is being consumed in festive cups all over the world.

Why do these cups make the drinks taste ‘merrier’?

I think it’s a mental thing with us. Something about the cups fill us with cheer.

We all remember a few years back when Starbucks made the big change from Christmas cups to Holiday cups and almost made the world implode.

I recognize that not everyone celebrates Christmas but they do celebrate holidays in the Winter.

McDonald’s and Dunkin have joined in the holiday cheer with their festive cups as well.

There’s just something about these cups that make us happier.

Yes I’m the last of the Charlotte Foodies to visit Silverlake Ramen in the South End.

So when Megan of Megan Miller Marketing invited me to the Fall Menu Preview I was there!

Now, being a vegetarian I’m often limited in what I can eat. Don’t get me wrong, I be eating!!! However I have a bit of FOMO when it comes to some dishes.

One of these dishes is the Bao Buns. Today I finally got to experience one.

Silverlake offers a vegetarian version with the Impossible Bun! Panko fried Impossible plant meat, shredded cabbage and katsu sauce! I could eat a dozen of these they are so delish!!!

I had The Ramen Vegetarian. Vegetable broth with miso base, bean sprouts, corn, mushroom, tofu, broccolini, baby greens, kale, red cabbage and avocado.

Hubby had The Classic Ramen. Choice of protein: pork, chicken, or tofu. Creamy pork broth, bean sprouts, spinach, green onion, seaweed, black garlic oil and egg.

He actually liked the broth in my veggie bowl better! And he’s a carnivore! it was full of flavor. And flavor is very important to vegetarians!

Now, being married to a Singaporean, I’ve wanted to try a Singapore Sling for ages but never found a place that serves them.

Until today! Yes I finally got my Sling!!!

I’ve known of James Keith as ‘That Hat Guy’ long before the world knew of him as Keith&James, Hat Designer.

Before moving to Charlotte, Atlanta was my Fashion Hub. I always kept up with the styles, even after moving here.

In 2016, I kept seeing those fedoras, you know the ones, on ATL music artists, athletes and on several Red Carpets.

The red bottom hats even have the approval of Christian Louboutin himself!

Eventually the world knew him as well and his hats are sold in high end stores and boutiques.

I was recently invited to a Neiman Marcus Meet and Greet with the designer I’ve long admired. And he graciously granted me a quick interview.

Why Hats? Was my first question.

His first response in jest was “because I’m loosing my hair lol”

“But seriously, Growing up I remember a gentlemen never left home without a hat.”

Perhaps it’s our mutual southern upbring that we grew up with the same memories.

James Keith grew up in a the small North Carolina town of Riegelwood, about two and a half hours east of Charlotte.

A Gentleman strolling into a building, removing his hat before entering or at a funeral, Tipping his hat as a sign of hello…

There were rules of etiquette for gentleman with hats. And James Keith is the man to bring those rules back.

He recently launched his new line of Bucket Hats.

Keith and James gives luxe touch to the bucket hats that are back in style once again.

“What’s next for you? Will you expand into clothing?”

He told me he has no immediate plans for clothing and will be sticking to accessories for now. However, he is launching a Fragrance Line!

Today my little Blog turns 6!!

It all started when a blogger invited me to a Color Bar Party. Jen of @Charlotteshopgirl had been working with me to start my own blog.
