The New ‘IT’ Bag

Gallery

I’ve been in love with Beck Bags for a couple of years now.

I first saw them on the runway of a fashion show. The designer is based right here in the Charlotte area!

Fast forward to this month. The lovely Kimberly Powell invited me to a Sip & Shop at The Cosmo Gypsy in downtown Mooresville.

I also became enthralled with this vintage wonderland at the same fashion show.

Beck, the bag designer, is also the founder of Cosmo Gypsy!

During the Sip & Shop we were graciously gifted one of her bags!

I chose the Beckini!!

This lovely shade of lavender caught my eye.

I was not about to save it for spring!!

Here I mixed it with leopard!

I also styled it with this super casual sporty outfit.

These bags are SO SOFT!!!

The best part…the inside is bubblegum pink velvet!!!!

Why velvet??

“Every time I slip my hands into my bag I want to feel why my bag is special. I want to feel something posh. Texture is exciting to us. The velvet is unexpected yet extremely durable.”

The Beckini is one of many designs from Beck. And there’s an endless choice of colors!

“Every color means something special to me, my family, and my friends. Whether it’s a color of an important garment in my life or a color that reminds me of somewhere that I have traveled. I pick them because they make me feel something.”

From the Beckini to the Booty Call bag, there’s something for everyone!

These bags have been featured in Vanity Fair, The Zoe Report, OK! Magazine and British Vogue.

Linda Princesas/Pretty Princesses

Last weekend the Immigrant community in Queen City was in fear for their freedom and safety.

I had planned to not post this week. Things here in Charlotte were very dark.

However, Dominican born designer Melanie Caballero, along with Charlotte Seen and Dillards at Southpark Mall hosted a Princess Tea Party and Fashion Show.

What better way to honor our Latino community.

I’ve long been a fan of Melanie’s intricate, vintage inspired pieces.

After the tea party, Melanie presented us with her rendition of well known Princesses!

After the show the little princesses got to meet and greet their favorite big princess!

We had Cinderella, Elsa, Glinda, Belle, Ariel, Tiana, Rapunzel, Jasmine and Pocahontas as well as the villainous sea witch Ursula.

For a couple of hours, we forgot about the outside world.

No matter our nationality, we all came together and we were all Pretty Princesses/ Linda Princesas.

I became obsessed with The Cosmo Gypsy a couple of years ago when I saw her runway presentation at a fashion show.

I had always wanted to visit and when my sweet friend Kimberly invited me to a Sip n Shop I was immediately down for it!

Good vibes hit me as soon as I walked in.

Cozy seating spots here and there make for a welcoming environment.

We had light bites and drinks compliments of Wake Coffee.

There’s a huge, fun selection of deadstock resin jewelry.

Gorgeous vintage furs, including this skunk coat! Yes, skunk!

I was drawn to these vintage metal handbags. How unique!!

This has to be the hugest selection of western boots I’ve ever seen.

This vintage piece would be a perfect gift for the ophthalmologist in your life!

How cool are these domino rings??

In addition to the vintage clothing, jewelry and accessories, the owner featured her own line of Beck Bags which I’ve also been in love with.

Her bags aren’t just beautiful on the outside, the inside is so lux!

Why the velvet interior?

“Every time I slip my hands into my bag I want to feel why my bag is special. I want to feel something posh. Texture is exciting to us. The velvet is unexpected yet extremely durable.”

Also featured were these repurposed pieces with fun patches and personalities!

There were also a couple of incredible vendors featured. Downtown Boy Scout and Nemesis Jewelry were also on hand with blast from the past vintage preppy clothing and handmade silver jewelry.

Backyard Boy Scout really took me back to my High School days where preppies ruled the school.

Vintage finds from Aigner to Polo had me reliving my glory days

I was particularly drawn to the way neckties were turned into bow ties!

Heather Day, the owner, even gave us a demonstration and I plan to try it soon!

What’s more fun than watching custom jewelry being made right before your eyes??

Metalsmith Ruby Nachom exhibited her beautiful, unique and natural pieces.

She also handmade us each our very own piece!!!

We got to talk with each of them as well and visit their gifting suites and brought home some pretty amazing swag!

I had such a fun night hanging with my friends, old and new, and experiencing this magical place.

You’ll Need A Jacket!

Fall has fallen. The temperatures are dropping and we’re left wondering how to remain stylish while bundling up!

I’ve found 5 ways to be on trend and warm this season.

1-Faux Fur:

Expect full faux fur coats as well as faux fur trims in various textures and patterns, such as leopard print.

2-Barn Jackets:

This rugged style is a major trend, updated with fashion upgrades like contrasting collars and printed linings.

From barn worker to Ralph Lauren chic, this look is for everyone.

3-The Bomber Jacket

The leather bomber, particularly in suede and with a rugged feel, is making a strong comeback.

4-Trench Coats:

You’ll see updated versions like the cropped trench and double-breasted styles.

And my personal favorite…

5-Capes:

This drama queen is loving this trend!

They are being styled in various ways, from practical outerwear to statement pieces and even integrated into casual looks

We definitely don’t have to worry about covering up our outfits and not expressing our style. We can layer our personalities with these fun fall pieces.

Falling for Fall

Fall is my favorite season. And my favorite fashions.

Here’s a few of my fall looks this year so far.

I paired a basic white button down with jeans, leopard Michael Kors loafers with a chocolate suede fringed bag from Urban Outfitters.

I added an Anthropologie scarf and my Tennessee inspired Lafufu.

This fun sweater from It’s Fashion Metro is inspired by Ralph Lauren.

I added barrel jeans also from It’s Fashion, my red Gucci bag and red mesh ballet flats from TikTok shop.

I broke out my favorite comfy start sweater from Girl Tribe, distressed jeans, Walmart booties, Versace aviators and my Ralph Lauren bag.

I tied an Anthropologie scarf to the bag for accent.

I made this old black sweater look chic again. Inspired it with barrel jeans, snake print sling back flats, and a vintage Gucci Jackie bag.

I added some lux accessories to complete the look.

I love, love, LOVE this look. I paired this pleated, high-low hem top from A-part[meant] Boutique with jeans, Michael Kors boots, YSL bag, Versace shades and my Chanel inspired Yochi New York necklace from Nina’s Boutique.

This is my most recent look.

I had purchased this blazer straight off the runway of Charlotte Fashion Week from designer Tyler by Tyler. Her artwork on a repurposed blazer intrigued me

I added a tartan skirt and men’s tie from Amazon. Again with the red Gucci Marmont bag, red sock booties, sparkly thrifted top, Versace shades and completed my look with a Vivienne Westwood pearl orb choker.

I’m having a blast with fashion this season!
