Father’s Day Gift Ideas From Macy’s

Gallery

I spent the morning at Macy’s in Northlake Mall looking for gifts for Father’s Day so you don’t have to!

My first stop was the fragrance department.

Two of my favorite lady’s Donna and Joan are so knowledgeable about designer fragrances. And they’re so much fun to be around.

You can even shop by phone with them!

Gift sets are popular choices for Dad.

I moved on to watches.

Macy’s has a great selection of Bulova watches.

If your dad is hard to buy for, how about this unique Citizen Men’s Promaster Skyhawk A-T watch presented in a special Blue Angels helmet display!

I then headed over to the shoe department.

If you’re tired of seeing ‘Dad Sandals’ get him a pair of Stacy Adams!

Does dad embarrass you with his clothing choices? Check out the Levis Fit Directory. It will help you find a more flattering choice of jeans for him.

Is your father a grill master? Or maybe he just thinks he is.

You can find him the perfect grilling accessories at Macys.

If your dad is a FIFA fanatic, they have you covered.

FIFA world cup 2026 is approaching and Macy’s has everything you need to represent!

Head over to Macy’s at Northlake Mall for your Father’s Day shopping.

Columbia Fashion Week Met Gala

Gallery

This was my second year attending a Met Gala event in Columbia.

This year’s theme was costume art.

Columbia Fashion Week was truly on theme.

We were greeted by live statues.

A couple of them were serving cocktails!

We were very well fed.

The cocktails were always flowing.

Red garments were placed throughout the room during cocktail hour.

GARDEN OF RED is an Artist Statement by Davar Justin Hart.

Davar recently graduated from Benedict college with a bachelor in studio arts.

He brought his Capstone Collection to the Met Gala experience.

I loved the draping of the white fabric against the black suit.

This corset really drew my attention. Coming and going, it was definitely one of my favorites.

This dress intrigued me. It reminded me of the children’s book The Rainbow Fish.

It’s so intricate. I cannot imagine how it was assembled.

This menswear look immediately drew my attention to the draping of the fabrics. There’s something very vintage about this look.

This look shook me to my core. Pictures do not do it justice. Seeing it in person was incredible.

Another look that blew me away. Lime green leopard print! And the piping on the pockets gives a 3D look.

This model truly owned this suit!!

The double breasted cropped blazer won me over with this menswear look.

These two looks took me waaaayyyy back! My favorite aunt Johnny Mae used to make clothes for us before she could afford to buy the things we saw in department stores in the city.

These two pieces remind me of McCall’s patterns she would use.

I would absolutely rock these outfits today!

Another incredible menswear look.

The buttons…the cropped pants…I’m swooning!

Now for some show stoppers!

This HAT!!!

That alone was enough to put this look in my top picks.

Add the tulle baby doll dress and oversized belt and wow oh wow!

Ahhh this green lame halter dress with the high slit is giving old Hollywood glam.

The pearl dress!! Literally the whole dress is made from pearls.

The lavender fur coat was an added treat!

The hot pink and color blocking commands attention.

Now, I had to show up on theme as well!

My take on Costume Art. Using the body as a canvas.

I call it ‘My Body, My Rules’.

I enjoy coming down for Columbia Fashion Week events.

Follow them for upcoming fashion events.

Love On The Runway

Gallery

Nira Love’s Boutique just hosted one heck of a runway show.

I’ve admired her pieces for years, so it was time to see them in person!

Coupled with the fact that my blogger bestie Reagan helped style a portion of the show, I wasn’t missing this event.

I’d like to highlight some of my favorite pieces.

If you know me then you know I love COLOR!!

Tulle and animal print are also at the top of my favorites list.

Red commands power and attention.

I’ve been known to add red boots to an outfit for a pop of color. In fact, I wore red boots to the show!!!

As you can also tell by the outfit I wore, I’m a sucker for a beret!

This denim look caught my eye coming and going. The cross on the back and the double denim jeans were a unique touch.

Speaking of unique!!

Can’t decide which bag to carry? Carry all three! This triple bag is so creative!

My edgy side loved these leather looks.

These copper/brown pieces called to my earth mother soul.

This was such a fun show. And now that you’ve seen some of my favorite looks, you can go shop the runway!!

Head over to her website and start shopping!

The Devil Wears Prada And So Do I

Gallery

Twenty years have passed since Miranda Priestly first introduced us to Runway Magazine.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 launches this week.

I was able to see it before its premier date so I’m not going to spoil anything for yall.

This blog will focus on what I wore to watch.

Each piece was carefully curated to tie into the movie.

First, this Tshirt that I knew I had to have.

Florals, for Spring…groundbreaking!

I was going to add a pink tutu but changed my mind at the last minute. Which I regret because I saw a lady wearing one and I was kicking myself.

Of course I had the Prada sunnies and my new Prada Paradoxe Intense Eau De Parfum gifted to me by Macy’s!

I added this skirt from TJ Maxx and my TikTok shop floral ballet flats. This was once again tying in with the Florals quote.

I brought out my new pink Marc Jacobs bag from Ross Dress For Less.

This is a nod to the famous instruction to Andy “Remind Jocelyn I need to see a few of those satchels that Marc is doing in the pony.”

This isn’t really a spoiler because this quote is in the previews.

Amari, the newest Emily says to AndyWho gives away Chanel???”

Well, my friend Rita does! She gifted me this vintage Chanel pendant!

So I had to include it in my outfit.

In a future blog we will go over the outfits but for now, I hope you enjoy mine!

Coachella: Music Festival or Fashion Show?

Gallery

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival was founded in 1999.

It wasn’t always the fashion spectacle we see today.

Coachella fashion has evolved from band tshirts and jean shorts to meticulously curated ‘costumes’ to appear free-spirited and causal, which totally misses the point.

But I’ve got to admit, I love the boho looks these girls and guys are pulling!

Let’s take a look at some of my favorite outfits from Coachella ‘26.

Starting with Queen Paris Hilton bringing back Y2K.

Lots of white gauze and lace.

Love this sheer piece with the dramatic peach ruffles!

This cream corset can be recreated for a fun ‘going out’ look.

Adding a crochet poncho to any outfit makes it fun and trendy.

These pieces can be worn together or separate and work well outside of a festival setting.

There were streetwear looks I loved.

Of course I love all the color!!!

My favorite look from 2026 is…

This is such a ‘Carrie Bradshaw’ look. So of course it’s my favorite!

What’s your top choices from this years Coachella?

Down The Rabbit Hole: CLT Shout Fashion

Gallery

🐇 I followed a white rabbit today thru the streets of uptown Charlotte.

He stopped at 400 S Tryon and darted inside. I followed him in.

I asked the Cheshire Cat which way I should go.

He replied “As long as you walk long enough, you are sure to get somewhere.”

I slipped down the rabbit hole. And quickly spotted the rabbit.

🎩He was talking with the Mad Hatter and I joined them at their tea party.

The Wonders that laid ahead were magical.

⏱️Despite the Rabbit and I being late, the Tea Party was a success.

🦩Well, until the croquet match with the Queen❤️.

Will White gathered local designers for CLT Shout festivals fashion exhibit.

The designers nailed it with the Alice In Wonderland theme.

Stop by and check them out. Shout will continue thru April 19.

We’re all Mad about Fashion here!

Galliano and Zara

Gallery

John Galliano has designed for not only his own label, but powerhouses such as Dior, Givenchy and Maison Margiela.

Galliano left Maison Margiela in December 2024 after a highly successful 10-year tenure as creative director.

Last month it was announced he would be joining the Spanish brand Zara.

Initiated by Zara’s chair, Marta Ortega Pérez, this deal aims to elevate Zara’s market position, blending high-fashion theatricality with accessible retail.

He is not coming as creative director. Nor to relaunch a line.

He is coming in as “creative partner.”

Galliano will deconstruct and reconstruct Zara’s past collections to create new, higher-end seasonal pieces, marking a major shift in luxury-meets-fast-fashion collaboration.

His plan includes curating and re-designing pieces from Zara’sarchive, rather than starting from scratch.

The first drop scheduled for September 2026.

Thoughts on this???

I love Zara. And I love Galliano. But will I love them together? Only time will tell.

Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking…

Gallery

Miranda Priestly may not approve. However, I’m in love with this look I created!

The beautiful weather inspired me to head uptown Charlotte for a spring photo shoot.

This mural echoes the colors in my ensemble.

I couldn’t wait to style my bubble gum pink Marc Jacobs purse I scored from Ross Dress for Less!

I added a pink tank from Walmart in the same, fun pink.

My wide leg jeans from It’s Fashion Metro dresses the look down some.

Tons of pearls were a must.

I always love to look at life through rose colored glasses so of course, the Versace sunnies!

My floral blazer, also from It’s Fashion Metro, tied the look together.

I made the outfit more casual by finishing the look with my TikTok viral Adidas sneakers from Costco. $26!!!!

And of course, the cherry on top, an oversized flower pin.

This outfit is budget friendly lux and it’s FUN!

Spring had SPRUNG!

Gallery

Bright colors, florals and fun fashion choices are here! Unfortunately, so is the pollen.

Ugggg….but let’s not let it kill our vibe.

My beloved Beck Bag made an appearance. I didn’t save her for warmer weather! She’s been out and about all fall and winter as well.

I paired her with distressed jeans, leopard flats from TikTok shop and colorful lavender tshirt.

I chose to add a layer at the last minute. This thrifted, star lace dress was a perfect contrast to the lavender color as well as creating texture.

I added this Leopard belt for definition and to tie in the ballet flats.

My Versace shades fit perfectly with the look.

I debuted my new Yochi NY necklace from Nina’s Boutique

Again I chose to play with contrast by also adding my Vivienne Westwood pearl necklace.

I’m ready for some fun, fashionable outfits!
